Things I wish I knew before coming to Cornell

You’re not a failure if you drop a class.
Just because everyone else takes “Class X” doesn’t mean “Class Y” isn’t better for you.
Your legs will look beautiful.
You’re going to meet some stellar people here.
You’re going to meet the douchiest assholes to ever walk the planet here.
Freshman year counts. It really does.

If your advisor is a huge idiot who can’t satisfy your needs, dump him/her. Get a new one. They get paid either way.
Go to your first frat party: love it, hate it, be indifferent about it.
Go Greek if you want to, don’t if you don’t. 33% is not a negligible percentage.
Double majors are for people who are very special. Don’t be sad if you can’t do it here.
Summers here are phenomenal.
There are beer goggles, there are Cornell goggles, and there are I haven’t gotten laid in a semester goggles.
Your advisor has never taken a class here. Find an upperclassman that knows what he/she is doing. Ask them for advice. (Sup, guys.)
